We Help Your Child

Learn to Read,

Feel Confident, and

Have Fun… all while having the

CONVENIENCE of attending class from

almost anywhere in the world!

... SO INSTEAD of dropping the ball (isn't it inevitable with other responsibilities/children, and limited time?)

YOU NEED ME to grab the baton and teach them over 250 phonics skills in a FUN way, TRACK and MONITOR learning progress and retention frequently, and reteach forgotten skills consistently so THEY WILL have a solid reading foundation.

  • Perhaps your child would like to learn how to read books on their own, so they can read as many books as they like without having someone to read to them.

With Kindergarten Prep and Beyond's Reading Program, you can:

  • Make sure your child's foundational reading skills are solid

  • Have another person in your circle who encourages your child to learn and grow

  • Help your child have positive reading experiences to promote joy in reading

  • Feel a sense of support in helping your child feel successful academically

  • Save time and money by not driving your child to an in-person learning center

Your Child’s Online, Premier Reading Education…

Your Child Will Thrive By:

  • Being Taught By an Experienced and Loving Teacher!

  • Being Part of a Leveled Class for Maximum Individualized Attention!

Your child will never fall through the cracks or be left behind in our self-paced classes! When they're almost ready to level up, they will have a video link created just for them to practice on off-days, so they can go ahead and advance to the next level!

Your Child Will Love Everything About Their New Academic Enrichment Programs and Microschool!

They Will:

  • Get Excited to Practice Skills Just About Every Day!

On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, they'll stay engaged with a learning video they'll watch with their classmates. I will be in a breakout room assessing one child at a time. I track their progress, and update their video list they will watch on Mondays and Fridays at home.

  • Have Fun and Stay Engaged While Learning!

Children love doing things in community. When they see online friends watching the same video too, it encourages their interest even more. When friends level up, it provides positive peer influence to encourage your child to practice a little more to join their friends. Our teacher will spark your child’s interest in such a way that your child will develop an endless love of reading.

  • Make Close Friends!

The best part about an online program is the chance to make friends from all over the world! With parent permission, students have the opportunity to connect with other children outside of class through Facebook Messenger Kids when under their parent's supervision.

Our Curriculum is Respectfully Self-Paced, Naturally Accelerated,

AND CHILDREN LOVE IT!

Our Program Has Helped Dozens of Children Learn How to Read!

Don’t take your chances with other reading programs. Instead, rest easy at night, knowing your child is getting the best reading education to prepare them for kindergarten, and beyond!

“My daughter started Ms Maureen's class during the pandemic while she missed preschool and friends. Then when she went back to preschool [in person] we continued with her reading program. Ms Maureen's program was very well structured for teaching a young reader how to master words. My daughter is not afraid to sit down with a 200 page book having no pictures for days --- not sure how much she understands but I am proud of what she has achieved in being comfortable with words. I love that Ms Maureen has a customized lesson plan for each kid and in the process I have also learnt a little on how to be patient and how to make sure my daughter has understood a concept by following up at regular intervals.” – Dina T. (Yelp)

“My son joined after school activity 3 month ago, i can see how his education level and attitude has changed, mainly because of the owner of the place, because she is very kind person, and deals with him as a mom not a teacher or owner, she is very helpful, open minded and set up a friendly environment for the kids...” – Nermeen L. (Yelp)

“This review is long overdue! Maureen and her program have been our family's saving grace. Our son is on the Autism spectrum and from day one, she treated him like one of her own children. He has learned so much academically and socially from her program that I give her all the credit in the world for his progress in both areas…” – Carina S. (Yelp)

“My daughter came here for Kindergarten Prep and I was not disappointed. Ms.Maureen was a phenomenal teacher…My daughter grew so much academically, just over a few months. It was incredible to see her transformation! Thank you so much Ms.Maureen! If you all are looking for a good place to prepare for your child for Kindergarten. I highly recommend it.” – Adam M. (Yelp)

Hi! I'm Ms. Maureen and I'm the owner of

Kindergarten Prep and Beyond

I've always wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I've been teaching for eighteen years! Kindergarten Prep and Beyond used to offer in preschool, after-school care for school-agers, camps, hourly "drop-in" childcare, and date nights (all with tons of field trips and an individualized approach). You can see that I love all things kids-related! One of the things I love to teach most is how to read. I put our reading program together when my oldest son was four. He was my guinea pig and all the materials and books I use were tried and tested by him! He is selective and an idealist, which means you're getting the most fun and engaging program available! The reading program was included in my after-school program and preschool.

Now, I get to teach YOUR child online! I can't wait!!

Promoting community has always been a passion of mine. I am so excited to provide an opportunity where both children and parents get to make friends and socialize.

DREAMS/GOALS

* Create a digital resource for homeschool preschool families that mimic my old preschool program.

* Create a digital resource for school aged families that includes local history and local playgrounds.

* Someday expand the Story-Time to be a totally immersive experience out in the community. Examples are family field trips and events related to the educational content of the story.

I'm super excited to start these activities. I need to expand my team to do this. Your business will certainly help make this possible and improve the quality of life for others. Thanks!

Got Questions

We Have Answers!

Do parents have to be present?

Charter schools require parents to be present. You will need to log your child into the online classroom at the start of each class, and be close by in case your child needs assistance with their device/computer. You may need to teach your child which button to click when I ask them to unmute, or join a break out room (blue button).

Do I have to buy any extra supplies?

No. Our curriculum is designed to be self-contained within our reading class each day so you don't have to buy any additional supplies.

Is it easy to access?

Yes. You can access our online classes on Zoom on any device where you have internet.

Can I cancel anytime?

We offer a one week free trial in the form of a virtual tour to learn about the program. Cancel anytime within that time by emailing [email protected]. After that one week is up, your charter school will be invoiced and a purchase order will be submitted. If your child graduates before the end of the semester, make use of the bonuses included, which is over a $150/mo value.

What if I miss a class?

If your child isn't able to make it to class one day, that's okay! If it happens to be a day we assess them, we'll do it next time! Watch the video links on this day if you can, and take advantage of the bonus activities if you like too.

How will you know when my child is ready to level up?

We assess children anywhere between two weeks and two months depending on their natural learning rate, confidence level, and other indicators. We use assessment results to determine when they’re ready to level up.

How can I best help my child learn?

It’s as simple as being your child’s cheerleader. When they share that they learned something new, jump for joy alongside them. Show interest in reading by reading books to your child and having fun conversations with them about it. Be easy-going. Happy children learn faster.

How can I remember to sign my child in for class?

I had to figure this out for my own children too. We recommend setting up a recurring phone alarm. For breaks, set an event on your phone calendar to pause the phone alarms, and set another one to resume the phone alarms. If at any time you wish to remember to check the school calendar, set an event on your calendar to check. This is great practice for when your child attends public school and you'll need to do this anyway for in service, breaks, minimum days, and tasks that schools ask us to do. "Set it and forget it" has helped me keep my stress low and keep things together as a busy mom. I hope it helps you too. :)
