Academic Enrichment Program

We Help Your Child

Get the Practice They Need or Want,

in Any Subject,

While Having Fun,

so Your Child Can

Enjoy Learning and

Want to do Schoolwork For Fun!

We get asked quite often, "How is the Academic Enrichment Program different than your Reading or Math Program?

The Reading Program and Math Program are foundational programs.

They are prerequisites to the Academic Enrichment Program.

The Academic Enrichment program is for students who would like practice

in different areas such as writing, language arts, social studies,

science, general knowledge, and so on.

  • Our academic enrichment program is available to our students in our reading and math program.

Text us to set a time on Zoom to discuss your child's needs. We will go over available activities for your child and create a customized learning plan.

  • Since your child loves our reading program, math program, and method, they will LOVE our academic enrichment program for children age 3 - 8th grade. This program Does Not replace preschool, elementary, and middle school curriculum. We focus on areas your child would benefit from having extra practice in, and teach things that are not taught in a typical classroom (read on to see).

  • Your child's learning plan is tailored to what your child needs. It can include

    * Core Subjects * Electives * Flashcards * Worksheets * Apps * Software Programs * Safety Skills * Life Skills * Social Emotional Skills *

Text us whenever you feel your child needs support with something. We will look up resources for parents and gather activities for your child to learn. Your child's learning plan adapts with them as they grow.

  • Your young child will choose which activity on their list to do first, next, and last, and for how long to do each so they will enjoy the activities. As your child gets older, we "collaborate" on what is a reasonable amount and goal for them. We are here to support their education journey, so they understand that education in their responsibility to attain. The typical outcome of our method is that children end up doing more schoolwork than their typical peers. For children who need structure, we recommend that they do their schoolwork first after getting ready for the day, then they get to do a fun activity or go on a fun outing afterwards. When children are around middle school age development-wise, we may add required activities so they get used to learning things they might not want to. This will help them get ready for a job someday. (Required activities for younger children should be chore-related, and not academic related).

  • Academic Enrichment activities should be done for about one hour total each day, but this can be more or less depending on your child's age and stage of development. Parents know their children best, so we will meet on Zoom to discuss what your child needs and create/update your child's plan accordingly.

  • Personalized and self-paced, just like with our other programs.

“My son joined after school activity 3 month ago, i can see how his education level and attitude has changed, mainly because of the owner of the place, because she is very kind person, and deals with him as a mom not a teacher or owner, she is very helpful, open minded and set up a friendly environment for the kids...” – Nermeen L. (Yelp)

“This review is long overdue! Maureen and her program have been our family's saving grace. Our son is on the Autism spectrum and from day one, she treated him like one of her own children. He has learned so much academically and socially from her program that I give her all the credit in the world for his progress in both areas…” – Carina S. (Yelp)

“My daughter came here for Kindergarten Prep and I was not disappointed. Ms.Maureen was a phenomenal teacher…My daughter grew so much academically, just over a few months. It was incredible to see her transformation! Thank you so much Ms.Maureen! If you all are looking for a good place to prepare for your child for Kindergarten. I highly recommend it.” – Adam M. (Yelp)

Got Questions

We Have Answers!

Do parents have to be present?

Parents might have to teach their child what buttons to press on their education technology tools such as their chrome book, printer, email, document camera, etc. (if applicable). Young children may need more support. Let's meet to see how we can make it simple.

Do I have to buy any extra supplies?

A printer and document camera might be needed, but we can work around this if needed. For example, if you don't want to use a document camera, students can do those parts at home with you. I will show you the method. Headphones are recommended.

Is it easy to access?

Yes. You can access our online classes on Zoom on any device where you have internet.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes.

What if I miss a class?

If your child isn't able to make it to class one day, that's okay! If it happens to be a day we plan to work on flashcards or workbook pages, we'll do it next time! Work on your online activities on these days if you can, and take advantage of the bonus activities if you like too.

How will you know when my child is ready to move on?

Students go in order when they use flashcards and our workbook. Tricky cards and pages are taught, and saved to do later when it has just the right amount of challenge. If a child is interested and demonstrates ability, we can increase their level or speed them through what they're working on.

How can I best help my child learn?

Show enthusiasm, interest, and curiosity in their activities. Communicate with us about how your child is doing and feeling. We can make a little change that makes all the difference.

How can I remember to sign my child in for class?

Setting up a recurring labeled phone alarm helps most parents. For breaks, adding reminders to your calendar to turn off/on your phone alarm seems to be the simplest way for parents to manage this.

We will be on vacation, can we pause our subscription?

We recommend that students don't go more than one or two weeks without doing schoolwork. Otherwise, they can forget what they've learned. It can be a waste of their time, and your money. 5-15 minutes per day (or more at your discretion) first thing after getting ready in the morning is what we recommend during vacation time.

Since we pay for account subscriptions for your child, we cannot pause your membership.

You can cancel, but keep in mind you can lose your spot and have to get on the waiting list.
